Fort Nelson

The Town of Fort Nelson (now called Northern Rockies Regional Municipality) is located in northeastern BC at the junction of the Muskwa, Prophet and Sikanni Rivers. It is 242 km northeast of Fort St. John, 810 km north of Prince George and 1638 km north of Vancouver. The new Regional Municipality has a population of 6,040 and now includes the community of Toad River. Key industries are natural gas, oil and forestry.
