Board History

The Cariboo Real Estate Board was formed in 1966, the successor to Cariboo Real Estate and Insurance Agents Association and the Prince George Multiple Listing Service®. In its first year of operation, the Cariboo Real Estate Board had 25 agency members with 80 salespeople. 620 listings were circulated on the new board's MLS® to the end of December, 1966.

In 1992, the "Board" became the Cariboo Real Estate Association. By this time, the Association had 411 REALTOR® members. Sales volume reached $366 million that year.

In 1999 the organization changed its name again - to the BC Northern Real Estate Board. While membership had declined to 380, sales volume had increased to $398 million (3,523 properties).

Today, the BC Northern Real Estate Board has over 380 members and has a yearly sales volume of over $1 Billion.
